Your Network Marketing Site Black Listed By Search Engines?

In today's world, it seems that almost any topic is open for debate. While I was gathering facts for this article, I was quite surprised to find some of the issues I thought were settled are actually still being openly discussed.

Which Internet marketer has not heard the horror stories of the multi level marketing (MLM) newbie who struck out for her- or himself without much help from an up line and probably also by disregarding each and every ounce of good advice offered by many a website and tutorial and instead built a website advertising the product or service for sale? Yet to the fledgling marketer’s surprise, no hits are being registered and in spite of tweaking and pruning the site every which way from Sunday, the traffic is still only trickling in, most of it being accidental rather than targeted. The sad reality is simple: unbeknown st to the new network marketer, the lovingly crafted site she or he spent so much time working on was blacklisted! Do not let search engines blacklist your network marketing product site!

Granted, the fledgling marketer from the example above probably was not quite as pure as the driven snow and instead may have engaged, wittingly or unwittingly, in some rather shady online practices which most major search engines will view as an immediate reason to blacklist the site. Here are some examples:

* Perhaps the most egregious offense is the use of irrelevant keywords within the website’s metatags or even within the body of the site just to generate more hits. Thus, if you are working on promotion a network marketing product related to wellness, the inclusion of several highly searched key terms, such as cancer, heart attack, stroke, and various other ailments will get you blacklisted, especially if the wellness product is not at all tangentially related to any of these conditions.

Knowledge can give you a real advantage. To make sure you're fully informed about black listed by search engines, keep reading.

* Submitting a website manually or automatically time and again to the same search engine is considered spamming. In the past it was done to ensure a higher ranking of the site, but with the modernization of the process, search engines are very sensitive to being spammed. Do it one too many times and your site will no longer be included in the search results.

* Beware the lure of the mirror site. Once again, this methodology is a blast from the past when it was thought to guarantee a higher ranking within the search engine’s ranking hierarchy. Yet with the advent of optimization procedures, mirror sites are considered to be a relic of the past and those who continue to utilize the technology that in the past allowed them to submit the exactly identical site with a different URL to a search engine will find that neither web address will be accepted.

There are a number of other tips, tricks, and schemes employed by those who design websites for their network marketing product. Do not fall for the lure of easy rankings at the expense of the integrity of your site. It is not just the search engine robots that catch on to your shenanigans, but it is also a more and more technologically astute populace that will realize your ploy and thus you will instantly lose a massive dose of credibility. This, in the Internet marketing business, is the death knell which must be avoided at all costs!

Of course, it's impossible to put everything about black listed by search engines into just one article. But you can't deny that you've just added to your understanding about black listed by search engines, and that's time well spent.

Your Own Home Business - 5 Reasons To Bless The Internet

The rapid expansion of the Internet has made it possible for more people than ever before to have their own home business. People who once would have been forced to take low paid employment outside the home (or be unable to find any work at all) are now able to work at home and make money online. Without the Internet few of these people would have been able to start their own home business because the cost of doing so would have been out of their reach. Here are my top five reasons to be grateful for the Internet.

1. Freedom

This just has to be the number one reason for practically anybody who has a successful home business. You have complete freedom to come and go as you please. You can work the hours you choose. If you need time off, you don't have to beg for it. If you want to change your schedule, you can just do it. You can spend quiet moments during the day reflecting upon how lucky you are to have no boss watching your every move.

2. Flexibility

Flexibility is a close second with most people who work at home. Many people who work at home, chose a home business because they needed flexible hours to fit in with family commitments. Most of these home business owners are women who chose to stay at home to look after their kids instead of going back to work and entrusting the care of their children to strangers after school and during vacation time.

3. Doing Something You Enjoy

Starting your own home business means you get to choose what you work at and you can then do something you enjoy all day long. You can't run a home business without doing some hard work but, when you are working at something you enjoy, it doesn't seem like work. There are bound to be some routine tasks that aren't particularly exciting but, even the odd boring chore, won't get you down when you are your own boss. You can always look forward to the day your business has grown enough for you to take on an assistant and delegate the routine stuff.

4. Variety

When you are a home business owner, you won't be doing the same tasks day after day. As an employee you would have your own set tasks allocated to you by your manager, but being your own boss means you get to do all manner of different things and learn the new skills you might require as a first time business owner.

5. Being your own boss

Being your own boss means you get to do what you like, keep all the profits you earn and take vacations as and when you please, but there is another intangible benefit that you will enjoy: just being your own boss will alter the way you feel about yourself. Being your own boss will give you extra confidence in your abilities and your self-assurance will increase to the extent that other people will notice it and react towards you accordingly.

When you make money online, be grateful for the fact that you live in this technological age and thank the Internet for your chance to start your own home business.

Your Own Online Training Site...

It isn’t really as hard as it sounds. Let’s get rid of all those things that are hard to do. If you don’t know how to design and construct a website from scratch, you can use desktop publishing software that makes it easier to construct a website. Another option is to have your website designed by a professional. Professional website designers have a more mature outlook in designing websites. Furthermore, you are given guarantees that the website they constructed for you will not suddenly collapse or malfunction.

Now, the first thing to do is to determine what kind of instruction you will give in your website. Pattern your website after your topic of instruction so that you have a themed look to your website. If you are a mechanic, try having some pictures of tools or maybe a tire included on the site as part of the background wallpaper or in the video instruction section of the website. Next, you will need those instructional videos for your viewing public. Begin by writing a script for your instructional spiel. Divide your script with respect to the stages or levels of your instruction topic. Determine the price you will charge for your educational video service. Once you are done, you can embed the video into your website and see the final product.

If you are satisfied with what you’ve done so far, you can look for a website hosting service provider. Mind you, some website hosting providers will design the site for you for a fee if you so wish it. Aside from website hosting fees, you will have to pay for domain name fees as well as other charges that the website hosting company deems fair to charge you. Also, you need to be specific about the bandwidth that your hosting provider will give you. This is to ensure that your video streams will not slow down due to heavy user traffic.

Now that you are ready to start selling, you need to have a place where you can deposit your online cash. You will have to open a merchant account in a bank and have the bank and the hosting provider configure your website so that the payments you receive are forwarded to your merchant account.

Don’t be nervous. This will probably be a little heavy on the pocket but it will not cost as much as investments in stocks and bonds. Moreover, if your business does not earn you anything, you can stop and cut your losses or research and apply some advertising strategies.

Finally, don’t think of this venture as a pioneering enterprise. Internet video streaming for purposes of formal education and instruction has been in use for a number of years now. Even so, most instructional websites that have gardening tutorials, computer troubleshooting tutorials and a whole score of other tutorials do not have video streaming instruction in their web pages. Video streaming as a method for education and instruction is less than 10 years old.

The advantage of using video streaming is that it gives you the ability to convey your instruction without difficulty since people see you doing the action as you speak the words to demonstrate it. It certainly is better than reading or composing a manual. If you go for the write a manual method, you will need a pretty good writer who can translate technical details into more human terms. The writer will also need to be able to aptly describe necessary movements and motions for the student to understand the instruction.

It certainly is better to listen and watch somebody fixing a wall fan while watching him than holding a book in one hand and a screwdriver on the other. If you put yourself in place of the student, you will be able to imagine how easy it will be to learn from watching a person perform a lesson instead of reading about it.

Your Prospect's Particulars: Persuasion Continuums

I heard a joke recently that I thought was pretty funny. 'I have the idea that one person's dream is another person's nightmare. For example, it's my dream to sleep with Cindy Crawford. I'll bet you anything that would be her nightmare.'

We're all different: some of us like to do crossword puzzles, others love math, some of us like to take tests or read maps, others enjoy cleaning. Our differences make us unique and our prospect's differences are what can make persuasion extra powerful.

When we figure out the key to unlocking our prospects particulars, we can decipher their messages and understand how uniquely we're all configured.

Here is a strategy that will make it easier to understand and take advantage and make the most of your prospect or client's particular criteria and values.

A persuasion continuum is an interesting phenomenon. If you were to draw a straight line on a piece of paper and if you were to put one of the directions of the continuum on the right side and the opposite on the left side, then you'll know what I'm talking about when I say 'continuum'. These are patterns that exist in the minds of people and they exist in particular contexts. As the context changes, so too can a continuum. They won't always hold the same across all contexts.

I will explore these types of persuasion continuums more specifically in future articles. A few of them that we'll be working with are 'towards and away', 'sameness and difference', 'internal and external' and 'options and procedures'.

Many of these are intricately intertwined and dependent upon their criteria or your understanding of their criteria. We define criteria as that which points our prospects and clients to what is relevant for them.

You've heard of a 'what's in it for me' mentality? Well, that's the concept of criteria and values at its essence. Is there something here for me? Or is this not for me at all? Everybody has this one big question when they come to talk to you.

Continuums are free of content. This means they don't depend on what you're going to say at all, but depend on the context in which you're talking.

If you are a financial adviser then you talk to people about their finances. That is the context with which contiuums hold. They will remain a constant within that particular context.

What is it that we're doing here? What's the point of a continuum? A continuum increases rapport, persuasion skills and creates incredible changes in your ability to get your message or information about your product or service and how it can benefit this client or prospect.

These continuums which I've mentioned are ones we can spot and find within each and every person. Some are more significant in some people than others. And in some future articles I'll be focusing on these four.

This is some deep, powerful persuasion and if you're feeling a little overwhelmed, it's perfectly natural. Stay tuned for more in depth information.

Your Rockin' Red Hot Online Media Room

Did you know that second only to your blog, the media room should be the most updated page on your website? When was the last time you updated your media room? For most of us, it's probably been a while. We tend to put up media rooms and then forget about them. But more and more, a good, informative media room should be consistently updated.

We've found through research, reading, and our own experiences that often it's not just the media that visits this page, that's why the term "media room" is a bit misleading. It's actually a great place to inform, entertain, and educate your reader on you, your books, your message or product, and the things you've been up to, and often it's the first place a prospective buyer will go to for more information on you and your work.

In order to compete in the digital age, more and more authors are turning to their media rooms to attract readers to their book. Why? Well it's a great one-stop-shop place to get all the latest data on your books, new editions, new products and new speaking events (should you decide to list them).

The old way of doing media rooms was to have a list of your press releases, maybe a link or two to media and that was that. Now media rooms are almost the nerve center of your entire website. Here's a quick rundown of what should (and shouldn't) be in your media room. Keep in mind that components of a media room will vary, depending on your topic, genre and focus, so if you can't include all of these, that's ok. Better to have only those components related to your book/product/topic than ones that don't make any sense at all:

1) Downloadable picture of your book cover or covers, your photo and other related artwork you want to offer.

2) About You: people want to know who you are, so tell them! Make sure your bio is on the media room and ready to download. It's especially helpful if a media person is trying to gather information for an article and wants some background on you.

3) Press releases with live links: a few issues back we wrote that live links in a press release are a great way to get traffic back to your site, but guess what? It works well in reverse, too. News posted to your site gets spidered very quickly, so including links and keywords will greatly enhance the visibility of both the media room and your press release. In fact another quick tip is this: instead of placing ads, issue a press release. No kidding. Press releases are a far better alternative than an ad on the Internet. You'll get spidered, you'll get ranking and best of all, you'll get traffic.

4) New book/product information: this is the perfect place for sharing past, current, and future information on your book. Be boastful! This your chance!

5) Tip sheets: we all know that the media loves tip sheets, but guess what? Your readers/consumers do, too. Fill your press room with any that you've created.

6) Where you've been featured: be very generous with this. Don't assume that if you have only been featured online that you should not list that. List everything! The more you can populate this room with links that make you look like the busy marketing person you are, the more attractive you'll be to your buyer and to the media.

7) Ideas for stories: if a reporter is perusing your site looking for story ideas, why not give it to him? Creating a pop up box that says "Here's how (insert your name) can help you with your story" is a great way to generate ideas for the media and get yourself a mention in an upcoming story or feature.

8) Bragging rights! If you have testimonials or reviews, place them here, too. While it's always good to sprinkle testimonials/reviews throughout your site, this is another great place to list them. Regardless of whether the visitor to your media room is the media or a reader, people like what other people like!

9) No hunting allowed! Don't make people hunt for information. The other day I was on a site looking for book pricing. I had to send an email to get a list of pricing, and why? Because it was confidential? Doubtful. But most people don't think to remove the extra steps. Shorten the staircase. Meaning: remove needless steps to the close. Put pricing, information sheets, whatever you have up on your media room so folks don't have to go on a hunting expedition for it.

10) Events: I took events off of my website a long time ago. Why? Because I do so much pop up stuff that I had a hard time keeping up with it. There's nothing worse than an outdated events page, but if you can keep yours up, great! Keep it current, the activity will look great on your media room.

A few final tips: don't even consider cramming all of this information onto your site if you're not going to deliver this in pop-up form. Check out http://www.amarketingexpert.com/media.html for an example of this. Also, deliver your text content in both PDF format as well as in text format so the search engines can spider it.

Don't limit yourself to the items mentioned above, experiment with other media room ideas that might not be listed here. Book videos, for example, might be another great addition to your media room. The key is, start thinking of your media room as a place to present yourself not just to the media, but to the world! This will change how you view this very important page on your site and help turn a ho-hum page into a rockin' red hot media room!

Your Small Business Home Office: Organizing The Organization

One of the greatest appeals of working at home, for those who are considering leaving their nine-to-five careers to start doing it, is the idea of working from a small business home office. Your Website As A Virtual Office

The online business is on an all time high. Millions and millions of people are venturing in online businesses and as expected, they would try to outdo each other. Competition is so stiff that businesses have tried to do all tricks in the book just to be able to stand out from the rest. Massive advertising campaigns were launched with the purpose of luring potential customers. Giving coupons and promotional items are just two of the several tricks employed by business to promote the company. Of course these are effective ways to gain traffic that could be converted into potential customers but an equally important factor vital to the success of any online business is a good website.

A good website serves as the virtual office of an online business and as such should be able to present a good impression to the potential customer. Just like any other office, it should be “uncluttered”, clean and pleasant to the eye. With just a single click, it should be able to provide the visitor or customer with the vital information he or she is seeking for. And this is possible by creating a website free from excessive trimmings, from unnecessary graphics and animations.

Slow loading sites due to heavy graphics are comparable to an unattended store where customers are waiting in line to be served. There’s a great probability that customers would transfer to other stores rather than cool their heels waiting. This would mean losses in terms of sales. Just like an office space, the interiors should be pleasant and cool to the eyes. This could be achieved by using complementary colors and decorations. This is also true in a website; the background should be lighter to give emphasis to the darker text. This way, the site is made more reader friendly. Nothing is more distracting than a website with glaring colors, with jumping animations and with bouncing banners. These are sure customer turn-offs.

Serving as an online store, the website should be able to provide unobstructed view of the merchandise offered. Using the simple Times New Roman and Arial for the text is most advisable as well as using bold letters and underlining words to give emphasis to key points. This would surely draw the attention of readers.

An office or a place of business will reflect the personality of the company-meaning a beautifully kept office with carefully tended grounds would mean that owners are serious with the business and that they are ready to give the optimum service to customers. The same is true with an online business. A website that is visually appealing to the visitors would draw more traffic thus increasing the chances of attracting customers. This would also mean that the webmaster is serious with his business and have taken great pains to ensure that the site have a professional look. Moreover this would mean that the website owner have used programs that made the creation of the website faster and easier. Attracting visitors is easy with professional looking websites and shopping would be a pleasure because of the security it provides to the customers.
