Are There Any Good Ebay Alternatives?

When it comes to selling your items at auctions, I’m frequently asked what some good alternatives to eBay are. Usually, the person asking wants an alternative to eBay because they think the fees are too high or there is too much competition eBay.

I too have dabbled in eBay alternatives. The overwhelming problem for the vast majority of these sites is that the traffic to these sites is simply too low or nonexistent to bring in good prices.

According to http://Alexa.com, eBay is the world’s 12th most popular site. That means there are millions of people a day who go to eBay to shop. So just going to a site where the fees are lower doesn’t necessarily make sense if they’re attracting less traffic since the prices you’ll get tend to be lower as well.

That’s not to say there aren’t any viable options to eBay. The key to doing well with eBay alternatives is to find a niche auction site.

You want to find a site that specializes in the items you’re selling. For example, in the past I’ve sold coins on specialty auction sites and got better prices than I would have on eBay. However, the fee was actually higher than it would have been had I used eBay.

There are also sites that specialize in selling jewelry, electronics, art, and even links to websites. These sites may not have near the traffic levels that eBay has, but are able to be successful because they attract a very targeted audience.

So should you use eBay or should you go with the niche sites? It depends. Yes, the fees on eBay may be higher than some of those other auctions sites. However, the fees the eBay charges may be lower than some of the specialized sites. You need to test the prices you get to help you determine which is the best for you. You may even find that both are effective ways to sell your items.

For those of you who sell a lot of different items, then you’ll probably want to stick to eBay since you can build up your feedback for all the different items you sell and can manage everything from one centralized account.

Six Simplicites That Create Success

This article is take from a an audio article that I posted on my blog as is one of my favorites. I took a look at the things that helped me in my home business and these six were the most valuable. 1) Always create and control your own products. Never rely on the products of others for your success. That's right, you must have your own products to be a large success. Anything else is much harder. And notice that I said products in the plural meaning you should have several. 2) There is no such thing as an internet business only a home based business. Now why am I saying that? Because there is an error out there that says "internet business only". The truth is that you are in home based business that does a lot of it's work on the internet. There are other methods of expanding your home based business that have nothing to do with the internet. Don't forget to try them as well. 3) There 3 systems that run all businesses. A Product creation system, a Sales creation system, and a Customer traffic creation system. Focusing on improving these 3 areas and ignoring most anything else will drastically improve your production. 4) Build your business on multiple products. It is hard to build a lasting business with one product. You should have a collection of related products in different forms. I teach people how to make multiple products easily on my blog. 5) You are in the business of collecting people who inquire about what you have, buy what you have, and who buy other items that you offer. This the basic flow of business or a fundamental of doing business. Inquiries, sales, & re-purchases are what we all do in business and they are done in that order. 6) All business must be reduced to a numbers game or it is not profitable. If you cannot make everything you do into a number that can be compared to a previous number you can get into trouble. Statistics run a business even if you do not keep them. Using the six items can greatly increase home business success

Funding New Business/Product Without High Cost Loans

One of the tallest hurdles facing new businesses and entrepreneurs is funding their new venture and the fact remains that securing loans for any new project is next to impossible. Many people are willing to put themselves in debt by maxing out their credit cards, using their savings and borrowing from family and friends to come with enough money to get their project off the ground.

Face it, getting a new product to the market takes time and money and most times the money is going to be hard to come by. It is the experience of many entrepreneurs that it’s nearly impossible to get a loan for a new venture unless you prove to can the bank that you really don’t need the money. However, if you don’t need the cash, many banks will trip over each other to get their cash into your hands.

There is a way to fund your project without borrowing money from banks, friends and family. While venture capitalists sometimes want more than a piece of your business, they will want to see one of their representatives involved in how your business operates before they put money into it. And, many times if things don’t work out the way they think it should, they can pull their money out leaving you broke.

The best way to launch any new product or business, regardless of its scope, is to design a program that is self-funding, bringing in money for product development, packaging, marketing, advertising and sales. You believe in your product so strongly that you are willing to put all of your available financial resources into it, but there’s no reason you should have to. There is a way to find the funding without leaving you and your family without grocery money.

Finding people, friends, relatives and total strangers with money waiting to be invested in a good product or in a valid business is never difficult. However, you will have to show them a good return for their willingness to help you get the business off the ground.

What Do You Have To Be To Succeed In A Home Based Business

So, 95% of the people that try to earn money online FAIL. That's a fact and nobody can argue with that.

But, you can belong to the 5% who actually earn money from the confort of their own houses. How? I call it the three "Be's".

Before that, let's talk about something else. Is it possible to start bulding an income using just FREE advertsing resources? Basicly, is it possible to earn money online without spending a penny?! NO! I've talked about it with other marketers and we all reached the same conclusion: at some point, you have to spend some money. But the trick, is how to spend it. Face it like an investment to future. Just spend it wisely. What leads to my main point. What do you have to be to really earn a "few bucks" using the internet in these so called "home based business"?

Be Active - That's right. If you have an idea, just explore it and do something about it. How many times did i heard: "oh man, i want to do this, but i don't if it's going to work. Maybe i just should let it go". WRONG. Be active in every way that you can be. You will never know if it is a good idea, if you just don't try to make it work!

Be Patient - While you are advertising your main home based business you have to be patient. Advertising is a number's game. Just don't quite and keep trying. Give yourself a couple of months until you give up.

Be original - In every step of the way, you have to be unique and creative. Do something different from the competition, and BEING ACTIVE here can really pay off. Write down some ideas that you think can work, embrace them with enthusiasm and you will see results in no time.

That's about it. If you can be active, patient and original you can earn money online. Along your money journey, invest your money wisely (no guarateed sign-ups and so on). Before EVERY MOVE research about it in order to find some feedback and then ACT!

How Often Should You Contact Your List?

One question that people have once they have a list whether that be past customers, newsletter subscribers, or leads is how often they should be contacting them.

There’s really no hard and fast answer to this question, but I can tell you that most people are so afraid of contacting their subscribers too often and annoying them that their err on the side of caution and don’t contact their people often enough.

You need to remember that if you’re not constantly reminding people that you’re still there, that someone else will, and that person will likely forget about you.

For example, if you’re not contacting your subscribers at least once a month, you’re just not contacting your customers often enough. A lot of people think that contacting subscribers everyday is way too often, but there are certainly areas where it works. I am on a list right now where every weekday I’m sent a short little email, and I read it everyday. However, these aren’t marketing and sales pitches, but rather little motivational blurbs – they’re short and take me less than a minute to read.

A good rule of thumb that works for a lot of people is to contact your subscribers once every 2-5 days. That’s often enough that they’ll remember who you are but not so often that they’re going to think they’re being bombarded with messages. Feel free to play around with this number and see what works best for you and your subscribers.

Also remember that not every contact that you make with your customers needs to be an advertisement for something. While sending free content to your subscribers or past customers may seem like a bad financial move, it can be a way to build up good will with your past customers or current subscribers, and when it comes time to buy, they’re going to remember you, and will be far more likely to do business with you.

Don't Kid Yourself. You Must Know The Rules Of Making Money Online.

Making money online has to start with the love of a steady job in the comfort of your own home. I started out by being taught how to set up a google adword account, yahoo account and a MSN account. When you work and you already have a job, family and other interest signing up can take one month alone. Interruptions are like mosquitoes having a feast on your epidermis.

But, once the accounts are set up then the picking and choosing begin. You have to ask yourself? Do I like writing articles? Do I like making websites? How many affiliate programs should I sign up for? How does that work? Your lucky if you are this hip to figure out how to ask all the questions and have the time to read the answers to all the questions. Daunting? Yes, Worth it, yes.

There are people who are true servants and desire that their success is measured by others success. That is why affiliate programs work. Joining a program with people who know how to communicate success is your best bet for success. The good teacher can show the simplest mind step by step how to do very complicated techniques.

This is a gift that the right online teachers give everyday. The rules of making money is to get in the game. The game is exciting, exhilarating and satisfying. Keywords, search engine ranking, article writing, adsense, adwords, yahoo and so much more. When you give yourself the chance to attract the best teachers and choose to be the best student you cant lose.

Keyword specialty is the science of the internet. For example, using two little words in every ad "buy',"purchase". The keywords are a feedback system from the internet letting you know if you are communicating with buyers or not.Copyright © Dr.Helen Thomas 2007. All rights reserved.
