Starting a business is easier than you think; it takes a few steps that are easily completed to get your business off the ground.
I have run several companies during my lifetime and I have to say that starting and running an Internet business is probably the easiest way to get going.
The first step is to do some research into a product which interests you. You need to establish if there is a market for the product and also ensure that the market is not flooded.
There are a number of industries that are absolutely flooded and it would be a waste of time getting into. They include: Credit Cards, The Sex Industry, Real Estate or Pharmaceuticals.
Do a search and if there are hundreds or thousands of companies selling exactly the something for almost the same price it would probably be best to thing of another product to sell.
Once you have selected your product, you need to get a website built. You do this by registering a domain name, buying some hosting for your website and actually building your site.
There are plenty of companies out there that can offer you all three. Most of them have templates that make building a website as easy as writing a letter.
After you have got your website up and running you need to be able to take payments over the Internet, the easiest way to do this is to set-up a Paypal business seller account.
Make sure your website is error free and can complete a sale properly. You may want to use your own credit card and sell your self something in a test run.
You now need to market your site; you can do this in hundreds of different ways. I would suggest Google’s Pay-Per Click system. It gives results almost immediately. You do need to watch you spend though.
I would also suggest starting to do some SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) so you will eventually be able to wan yourself off Googles Pay Per Click system.
You might also consider selling your product on E-Bay, and through other vendors on the internet.

Make Your Small Business Thrive & Win
The advantage that small businesses have over the big boys is that they can make quick decisions in response to changes in the market place. Large corporations have to have a meeting about a meeting before they can have the real meeting to agree a change in direction!
Create Partnerships
Why not create partnerships with other businesses that are in a complementary business but do not compete with your own? Say you are a web designer. You can partner up with someone who provides SEO work. You benefit because you can get your customers websites higher on the search engines and in return they can provide you with leads of people they help that have shoddy websites.
Why Not Merge With Your Main Competitor?
By combining your businesses your buying power increases and you will be able to make both businesses leaner and fitter. If your competitor is smaller than you, why not take him over and remove him from the equation? This will allow you to increase your prices and therefore make higher profits.
If you want to increase your offering why not merge with or acquire a business that can enhance and increase the variety of your offering.
New Technology can Save you Money
Embrace new technology to make your business more efficient. Admittedly this does cost money in the short term but the longer term benefits could be huge. It could be possible to get more done with less people.
Will that be Cash, Cheque or Credit Card?
Do you offer the ability to take payments with credit cards? Why not? By offering many different ways to pay you can make it easier for your customers to buy.
The supplier I use is a company called 2checkout.com. There is a one off set up fee and no monthly charges. They can accept payments in most currencies and charge only a small percentage each time a customer buys. No transactions equal zero charges!
May you live long and prosper.

How To Increase Your Blog And Website Rankings The Easy Way
I have not really paid much attention to this method of link building until now, but have now decided to give it more attention after realizing how well this trick works. If you look around at the well-known Webmaster Forums you’ll find many people looking for a sponsor of templates they built. These Templates can be for forums, directories or blogs (in particular Wordpress Blogs). These designer design and build templates for the software of their choice and then release it for free.
Under the license terms a user of such a template needs to leave the sponsor links intact. These links are usually located in the footer. By finding sponsors for their templates these designers actually make money. If you are a good designer it might take you an hour or two to develop a nice looking template. You can easily sell 2 sponsored links on a design for approx. $35 and $100 each. Depending on where you live this can be a significant source of income.
From a sponsor point of view this means if the template is promoted well, he get a lot of back links from other blogs. Imagine a free template with your link in it used 100 times – this can be significant if those blogs grow in popularity and Google Page Rank. The real beauty of this “seo trick” is not to concentrate on the publicly available sponsorships you find in forums, but to identify a designer who delivers good work and to contact this designer and to work with them directly. Bypass the middleman, bypass the competition.
In general this seems to be an underdeveloped market with high link building potential. If used in a mix of normal link building and SEO it can be a great tool to make your blog or website more popular. With Google and other search engines becoming more difficult to deal with you have to become more creative if you want to rank high in search engines.

Small Businesses - Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Quick
I have been in business now for over twenty years and in that time I have made friends with many small business owners. What I have found has been one of the major reasons why some small businesses fail is that the owners are not willing to change direction.
Most small businesses have an office, premises, vehicles and maybe a couple of staff. If they are struggling to make money with their existing product lines why do some of them refuse to move to a new product range that might work better?
The major advantage of being a small business owner is that it is possible to move very fast. If you have products that are not profitable then why not ditch them now? If the niche you are operating is no longer as profitable as it used to then surely it is time to find a new niche?
Small businesses can be nimble. They can bend or even change direction at a drop of the hat. This ability to react quickly to market forces is our biggest weapon against the large companies we compete against.
By being the first to exploit a new niche brings with it the potential for large rewards. The slow footed large companies will eventually follow you but it will take them time to catch up.
We have an advantage in that if we stay alert to what is happening in the marketplace we can change our business model quickly when the old ways of doing business changes.
By thinking outside the box and looking for partnerships with non competing businesses it is possible to supply a larger range of products / services to your existing clients.
"Jack be nimble, Jack be quick" is the one of the best ways to stay one step ahead of the game. It's no longer just about "survival of the fittest". It is now "survival of the quickest".
