How To Make A Living Selling On The Internet

Starting a business is easier than you think; it takes a few steps that are easily completed to get your business off the ground.

I have run several companies during my lifetime and I have to say that starting and running an Internet business is probably the easiest way to get going.

The first step is to do some research into a product which interests you. You need to establish if there is a market for the product and also ensure that the market is not flooded.

There are a number of industries that are absolutely flooded and it would be a waste of time getting into. They include: Credit Cards, The Sex Industry, Real Estate or Pharmaceuticals.

Do a search and if there are hundreds or thousands of companies selling exactly the something for almost the same price it would probably be best to thing of another product to sell.

Once you have selected your product, you need to get a website built. You do this by registering a domain name, buying some hosting for your website and actually building your site.

There are plenty of companies out there that can offer you all three. Most of them have templates that make building a website as easy as writing a letter.

After you have got your website up and running you need to be able to take payments over the Internet, the easiest way to do this is to set-up a Paypal business seller account.

Make sure your website is error free and can complete a sale properly. You may want to use your own credit card and sell your self something in a test run.

You now need to market your site; you can do this in hundreds of different ways. I would suggest Google’s Pay-Per Click system. It gives results almost immediately. You do need to watch you spend though.

I would also suggest starting to do some SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) so you will eventually be able to wan yourself off Googles Pay Per Click system.

You might also consider selling your product on E-Bay, and through other vendors on the internet.

How Sucessful Is Your Business?

If your business is one of the lucky few that make it through their first year without going bankrupt, you might be left wondering what it was exactly that made you so sucessful. If you can isolate that item, then you can focus on it, and as the theory goes, continue your sucess (or even be more sucsessfull in your second year). 1. What Were Your Profits? Be brutally honest with yourself when tabulating your profits or losses. Don't write off the new computer you bought just because your old one died on you, and similarly, don't count money that is due any day now. Only after you know how you did can you start to plan on doing better. 2. Where Did The Money Go? Most businesses do not make any sort of profit within their first five years. You should be lucky just to still exist. Of course, if you did happen to make a profit, don't immediately go and spend it. If you re-invest that money back into the business it might serve you much better. 3. Track Your Customers If you don't already have a customer database, now is a good time to start one. If you can, you should also use a system that is sophisticated enough to track repeat purchasers. In this way, you can start a customer loyalty program if you so choose. Out of all the transactions you did, calculate how many were repeat business. Most businesses aim at achieving the highest possible amount of repeat business they can, because it's a lot cheaper to keep an existing customer than it is to make a new one. 4. Learn From Your Mistakes You should have a detailed record of every customer complaint you have ever recieved. Take a good hard look at what you didn't do right, and make a commitment to correct those issues permanantly. If you can, put up defensive measures to help ensure those situations won't happen again.

Tips For Maintaining Multiple Web Sites

A lot of internet marketers have multiple web sites. Multiple sites mean multiple streams of revenue. Sounds good. It’s not quite so simple though. Multiple sites can turn into multiple streams of revenue only if you are doing the right things to turn them into revenue earners. Here are my tips on maintaining and managing multiple web sites:

Think Before You Start: Think about why you are starting a new site, what you plan to offer and what you plan to gain from it. Don’t just start a site because you feel like it. Do your research, do some thinking and then go ahead.

Treat Each Website As A Separate Business. The first step is to write down the mission statement of your new website. The mission statement must include what information/services the website is going to offer and which market it’s going to cater to.

Maintain A Database : Document the passwords and usernames and everything related to that website.

Be Consistent: Only add content to the site that fits with mission statement. Refer to the mission statement frequently. Don’t get distracted from the goals for that website.

Monitor Revenue Independently : Maintain separate revenue statistics for each website. Your websites might be doing well all together but there might be a few which are not performing well. By keeping separate revenue charts you can focus on the profitability of each website separately.

All Marketing Efforts have to be independent of each other. Every marketing effort - right from article marketing to press releases has to be separate for every website.

Lastly don’t start too many websites. Start only as many as you can maintain. It’s better to have five good websites rather than ten bad websites. Number of websites is not the key to your success, number of good, well maintained websites is the key.

Home Based Business And Network Marketing Tips You Can Take To The Bank

If you’re looking to get involved in a home based business or network marketing opportunity, there are some things that you should definitely take notice of if you want to become successful. Often times, people who are new to the work at home industry fail because they don’t have a plan for succeeding. In this brief article, I’m going to give you some “best practices” that have greatly contributed to my personal success. Hopefully by the time you’ve finished reading this, you’ll have some ideas that you can immediately apply to your own business and ultimately make more money as a result.

One of the biggest pitfalls that I see many new home based business owners make is not having a dedicated work space at home to work from. Let’s face it, working from the house is great and it’s pretty freakin’ cool to sit on the couch in front of the TV and make money. But, are you really realizing your productivity potential here? Set aside a dedicated room or area in your house where you can work without distractions. This will ensure that the time you invest in your business yields the greatest return.

Another mistake that many individuals make when starting a home business or network marketing venture is that they don’t have daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals. I know, I know. “Goal setting” is so cliche and seems to be the mantra of every wannabe “guru” these days, but it does play an important part in your success. Goals keep you on track, and more importantly let you know when you’re not.

Hopefully this short article has given you a few valuable insights into what it takes to become successful in a home based business or network marketing opportunity. Working from home is the best thing in the world, but it doesn’t come without pitfalls. Follow these tips and watch your productivity skyrocket as a result.

Five Tips To Stay Away From Work At Home Scams

There are many different types of work at home jobs. Not every job opportunity is legitimate. Thorough research has to be done before you pick the right opportunity. Caution needs to be exercised. A lot of people fall victims to scam opportunities. In the process they lose a lot of their money. Here are my tips on how you can separate the good opportunities from the bad ones:

1. Do you have to pay? If you have to pay to sign up for a work at home job offer then it’s something you have to stay away from.

2. Do your research: ‘Google’ the company and scan through the results you get. If anyone has been burnt by the company then they probably shared their story on the internet. Also try to search for the company name and the word ‘scam’ together. However please bear in mind that if you don’t come across any bad things written about this company it does not necessarily mean it’s a good opportunity.

3. Speak to others: If you know someone who has also signed up with this company, try to speak to them and get their thoughts and experiences about the company. Forums are another great way to get information about the company.

4. Street Address: If a company has no street address but only P.O box address then you have to be cautious. Why is it hiding its street address? Beware.

5. If something sounds too good to be true then it probably is. No one can get rich without putting in the hard yards. Don’t be tempted by offers that promise the world to you.

Always use your common sense. If you have any doubts then stay away from the opportunity. Its better to be cautious than to be burnt and lose money.
